Background:Mairéad Déiseach is a mezzo-soprano who studied singing to Diploma level with Jody Beggan in the DIT Conservatory of music. She is a Feis Ceoil prize winner for both solo and duet singing. Is múinteoir bunscoile í i Scoil Chualann i mBré. She is Co-Director of the National Children’s Choir as well as being the Musical Director of The Frascati Singers and is a regular soloist and conductor of Curtlestown Church Choir. A classically trained violinist, she also enjoys playing traditional music and likewise has long loved singing traditional Irish songs.
The CD is well-named: ‘reflection’ – a throwing back of sound or light or… self – is also a call to thoughtful consideration. When we hear Mairéad sing these songs…these ‘reflections’…we are invited into the duality of her own space…of life and love.
Mairéad had the pleasure of singing on Donncha Ó Dúlaing’s Christmas Special ‘Fáilte Isteach’ programme.
